AutoCAD [Win/Mac] [Updated-2022]

+ More on AutoCAD Inside:

Software requirements

In order to use AutoCAD, you will need a copy of Microsoft Windows operating system. You also need to have AutoCAD available on your computer. AutoCAD 2019 is the current version of AutoCAD. AutoCAD 2017 and earlier were known as AutoCAD LT. Autodesk has AutoCAD LT for free. (You can download it from Autodesk’s website.)

By default, AutoCAD is installed on the hard drive. To install it on a CD, you can choose the option “Run AutoCAD” from the CD or DVD. Once installed on a CD or a DVD, AutoCAD can be used as a standalone app.

AutoCAD can be run as a 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) application. 32-bit and 64-bit versions can both be run from a 32-bit or 64-bit copy of Windows.

AutoCAD can run on a Mac. The 32-bit version is available for macOS from the Mac App Store. You must have a Mac with OS X 10.6.8 or later (and the OS X App Store) installed. The 64-bit version of AutoCAD is not available for macOS. You will need to install a Windows version of AutoCAD (see below) to use AutoCAD on a Mac.

You can run AutoCAD on a Linux computer, but it is not available as a Linux app. Linux users must install a copy of Windows on their computer. (Linux users can download a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows and install it on their Linux computer. They can also install the Linux version of AutoCAD.)

The following are minimum requirements for running AutoCAD:
