IPv4 Subnet Calculator is a small, simple, easy to use application specially designed to help you determine which subnets are valid within a particular network.

Project Description
This program was originally created as a 32-bit Windows application to calculate IPv4 addresses for a given network (a /24, a /16, a /10, a /8, a /5, a /3, or a /2). This was made available free of charge as a portable 32-bit application for Windows 95/98/ME and NT 4.0.
Later I continued to develop the original application and released a 64-bit Windows version of the program as a commercial application (IPv4 Subnet Calculator).
The program is available as a free stand alone application for Windows NT 4.0.
The program is available as a free 32-bit Linux application for Red Hat Linux 8.0.

The program supports /24, /16, /10, /8, /5, /3 and /2 network sizes.
The program can generate an interactive Network Address List (NAL) where you can view the network range and subnet ranges.

The following is how the application works.
Enter the subnet mask and subnet length of the network you want to analyze.
You must specify the netmask (e.g. 255.255.255.0), not a prefix length (e.g. 30). You can always use the command line “ipconfig /all” to calculate the netmask.
Calculate the netmask (there are online calculators available, but if you are using Windows XP, be aware that Windows XP doesn’t provide a GUI way to find out the netmask).
Convert the netmask into a number.
The subnet length is the number of bits used for the network address. For example, a network of the following address range is represented by 28 bits: 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254. If this is a /24 subnet, then subnets have 24 bits. If this is a /25 subnet, then subnets have 25 bits. If this is a /26 subnet, then subnets have 26 bits.
The IP address subnet calculator can convert a subnet from one of the many possible formats to another.
