iView is a simple-to-use image viewer that offers support for many popular file types, including BMP, GIF, PCD, PSP, PSD and TGA. It has a built-in file explorer and a couple of customization settings.
Setup and interface
The installation procedure doesn't take long and contains familiar options. However, you should know that it supports only 32-bit operating systems. Unfortunately, the application hasn't been updated for a long time.
As far as the interface is concerned, iView opts for a standard window with a plain and simple structure, where you can use the integrated file navigator to explore disk directories and find the images you want to view.
View photos and slideshows
It's possible to set a picture as your desktop wallpaper, put together a slideshow to view a sequence of multiple pics, zoom in and out, switch to full screen mode, as well as to save photos as files with the BMP or JPG extension.
When it comes to configuration options, you can modify the background color, TWAIN, scanning mode, file associations, JPEG compression quality, progressive encoding mode, and grayscale filter.
Regarding slideshow preferences, you can specify the delay between slides, fit the slides to the screen, run them continuously, show the file name, use the a custom-defined playlist, or randomize the slideshow.
Evaluation and conclusion
Unsurprisingly, CPU and RAM consumption was minimal in our tests. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash. Slideshows were rapidly generated.
The software tool is equipped with the necessary features for opening image files and quickly putting together slideshows. However, it hasn't received updates for a long time and doesn't support 64-bit Windows. Other than that, iView can be seamlessly handled by all kinds of users looking for a straightforward photo opener.

I’d like to add a few remarks: Firstly, I’ve tried it on WinXp 64bits. The program was running fine, but when I tried to run the Explorer to open a folder that had pictures, it took about 5-8 seconds for the application to appear.

Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely make iView more secure in the future.

I recently purchased this program, to view my photo collection. I have very old photos, so I don’t always remember what kind of photo they are, what file extension they have, or even where I put them. With iView I can immediately tell what kind of photo it is by the TWAIN.

iView has a really simple interface. You can bring up the Explorer, a folder, the file, or even open several files at once, add a quick link to the iView window, and it shows up on your desktop immediately. As I said earlier, it’s like a well-oiled machine, so launching a slide show is just a few clicks away.

With so many powerful photo viewing software on the market, I have to admit that iView actually works as advertised.

Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely make iView more secure in the future.

iView is a simple-to-use image viewer that offers support for many popular file types, including BMP, GIF, PCD, PSP, PSD and TGA. It has a built-in file explorer and a couple of customization settings.Q:

Best way to dynamically split string

This question is best illustrated by an example.
string input = “Peter Smithers wrote 3 books on C#, Caml and Java.”;

I want to split the input to its words as shown:
Peter
Smithers
wrote
3
books
on
C#
Caml
and
Java.

I’m not using a list, I have to use string.Split because the string is parsed from a.CSV format.
What’s the best way to do this?

A:

From your example it looks like each “word” you want to consider is delimited by word delimiters (space, colons, etc.) You can do it like this:
string input = “Peter Smithers wrote 3 books on C#, Caml and Java.”;
string[] parts = input.Split(‘ ‘);

If you’re really determined to do it with string.Split(), you can use the following Linq-like query, but you’d have to worry about input of non-word delimiters etc.
string input = “Peter Smithers wrote 3 books on C#, Caml and Java.”;
var parts = input.Split(new string[]{” “});

A:

string input = “Peter Smithers wrote 3 books on C#, Caml and Java.”;
var parts = input.Split(‘ ‘);

Q:

Highlight rows in a datagrid in WPF

I have a datagrid in wpf that shows the header of the columns and the values within the columns. Also, there is a row template, which is used to fill the actual rows on the grid. The grid is filled with data from a database and an entity framework query.
Within the row template, I have a label, which represents the header of the column. And, I have a textbox, which represents the values of the column. Both of these are highlighted, when the focus is on it.
