What is Logfile Software?
Why were you created?
Logfile Software was created to help the less technically inclined of us find the information that we need. We struggled with the computer in the early 2000’s and learned how to fix the problems ourselves without relying on the technical services of a computer technician. We began to blog and while some techs still complain about all of us, the rest appreciate what we have to offer.
Logfile Software is an idea that I have had for many years and I’ve been trying to make it useful to people. I had the idea to write an application that would have all of the log files in one spot. Not just a folder where all the log files were, but an application where all the logs were listed so you could view it any way you wanted.
I had the idea a few years ago and just never got around to putting something together. I finally realized the time had arrived for me to make my idea a reality. I have had the forum, blog, and apps for all of the log files in one place for about a year now.
If you have ever asked “Where is the log file in the registry or how do I see the error in the registry?”, you will find all the answers you need right here.
What do you hope to accomplish?
I hope the log file software and the blog will be successful. I don’t want to have too many people relying on my app to always be available to them. I have some ideas of what I want Logfile Software to do, but I also want to know what you would like to see it do. I’m going to put together a list of the common tasks someone might want to do with the log file software and see if I can make that happen.

The application, once launched, can be accessed from the System Tray. There, you have the possibility of changing some of the tool’s options or choose the window/windows you want to sit on top of all other desktop activity. Quite frankly, it’s a simple process for a simple application.
A couple of useful settings
Aside from the app’s main functionality, the developer has included a couple of settings, allowing the user to slightly adjust the way the program responds to the commands you issue. Alter the hotkey combination for triggering a window to sit on top. Have the app run with administrator permissions or choose to have the icon of the affected window shown as you apply the sit-on-top function to it. These are not very important choices. Even so, you get to slightly adjust functionality to better suit your needs.
