World of Warcraft Search is a browser extension that adds a search bar to your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer) and makes it easy to search for any WoW-related information. The search works across multiple websites and will always take you to the correct one. Furthermore, you can open a link in a new tab and continue browsing the page you came from.

World of Warcraft Search is currently supported by a small number of websites. We plan to add more sites in the near future. If your favorite website is not yet supported, you can add it to the list of supported websites at www.worldofwarcraftsearch.org.
Please refer to the FAQ for a list of currently supported websites.
Feel free to report issues and/or contribute code.

World of Warcraft Search is the only WoW site search out there currently. I’d definitely recommend any WoW-related website look into adding the extension as it can help tremendously in terms of search quality and discoverability.

This extension is a disaster, do not even bother. I have never seen an extension with such poor integration between its own icon and UI controls.
It does not respect my homepage. It changes the icon every time i go to a site. This is especially annoying when one of those sites is for example www.wowwiki.com.
The extension adds a big whitespace to the right side of my browser and the character shows another place on the screen. Moreover, instead of a minimalistic extension, it changed its UI to a bad looking bloated yellow/green full of those useless clouds.
Also, the extension opens a complete new tab instead of using the current one. To add to that, the new tab is focused by default which means it opens in focus.

This extension is a complete failure. Everytime i switch to another website, the extension inserts a ghost character (which it hasn’t even loaded) into the browser.
The addon freezes when changing tabs. The character it shows is almost impossible to use.
It opens a new tab after every site i go to.
The addon adds a big blank space to the right side of the browser.

A word of warning when adding the site search bar:
There are people who like to abuse the extension and try to trick you into browsing to a certain sites. The extension is easily fooled; simply search for something like “aurochs mount” or “dingo hatch”. From these name-for-noun searches will come up thousands of results, and from there, you will be easily tricked into browsing to some spam site.
Although the extension tries to filter out those sites, some still slip through. This is something that has to be taken in account and there is no way to prevent it. This also applies to any website that you want to use; it can be a legit site, but there are still plenty of illegitimate sites out there that try to steal your information. The best thing to do is to always be careful and be very skeptical.
But that’s not all! Since you can actually add any of the websites you’ve selected in your account, and your bookmarks have been saved locally, you will be able to access them easily.
Some might say this extension slows down their browser; it is true that it does a bit. Also, all the sites you browse will make your browser a bit heavier since your network is used to retrieve the information.
There is one thing that sucks though, and that is that it only works in Chrome; thus, if you use Firefox or another browser, you will have to manually add the site. This extension has to be manually installed in all your browsers, but it’s a minor gripe because it does actually work.
The only complaint we have at this time is that the “notifications” feature is not really helpful; it would be nice if it would show where the information is located if the website you wanted to check is an official World of Warcraft site.
In all, we think this is a really neat add-on that should be added to every World of Warcraft player’s
